Dubstep

Dubstep is characterized by its use of deep basslines, high-pitched sounds, and glitchy vocal effects. It emphasizes intense build ups, and even more extreme bass drops that layer dozens of notes and instruments.

Mood/vibe

Dubstep is to EDM what heavy metal is to rock. It’s loud, it’s aggressive, and it’s packed full of excessive energy. It thrives on unpredictable song progressions, and being as “in your face” as possible. Dubstep is very characteristic of the 2010’s, and is something listeners would play while also playing Call of Duty on the Xbox 360.
