House

House is one of the most popular genres under the EDM umbrella, with dozens of subgenres such as deep house, Chicago house, and French house as some examples. It is marked by a repetitive use of 4/4 time signatures, bass drums, and catchy melodies. Some songs may use vocals, or a rhythmic tune such as humming, while others may be completely instrumental.

Mood/vibe

The mood can vary across the vast array of subgenres, but generally it will make listeners feel uplifted, making them want to dance and put their hands in the air. However, because the tempo is slower, it can often be used for easy listening or background music. House music often evokes the feeling of being at a beach party during a sunset, or a neon-lit dance club.
