Techno

Techno is known for its frequent use of synthesizers, drum machines, and keyboards. It uses a 4/4 time signature, and typically has little to no lyrics. Techno also uses cymbals and treats the song more as a journey rather than a destination. Much like trance, the genre can be very hypnotic, though it has punchier basslines and hi-hats.

Mood/vibe

Techno as compared to other EDM genres makes it very apparent that the sounds are created by machines. Think retro futurism, and how the 80s and 90s perceived the future with advanced robots and hovercrafts. Techno is very mechanical, and focuses heavily on the use of technology to make music.
